Ain't No Swan Lake on the Chicken Ranch It’s the start of a sizzling day on the chicken ranch. The hens are starting to rise and shine, but not all the girls are interested in laying eggs when it’s this hot! Winner of the 2018 Oregon Burlesque Festival's "Keep It Weird" award, this act mixes chickens, ballet, fan dance, feathers,self-care and body love with a comedic and not-at-all classic burlesque parade and peel.
More than the Sum of Our Parts This is a character act inspired by the concept of growing into yourself: “You are imperfect, permanently and inevitably flawed. And you are beautiful.” ― Amy Bloom Mrs. Potato Head finds that self-acceptance is an invitation to stop trying to change yourself into the person you think you should be long enough to find out who you really are.
Jadis, Queen of Winter This is a character-based parade and peel inspired by the icy gorgeousness of a winter landscape. It personifies my fascination with winter. From the Game of Thrones "winter is coming" to the quest to end winter in Frozen, stories tell us that winter is a relentless force of nature that pushes us to keep ourselves alive. And when it let's go (see what I did there)... anything can happen!
Draco Malfoy, Mr. Boombastic! This is a twisty parade and peel with a magic tassel spinning bra, because Draco is ALWAYS a diva.
The Sex is in the Heel This act combines reveal/nonreveal, character, and art house burlesque styles in a passionate chair dance. Passion and angst with a surprise, power ending!
Eve of Destruction This act combines non-reveal, character, and art house styling in a powerful lyrical and emotive narrative fan dance. As a form of the triple goddess Morrigan, Babd Catha is the battle crow or raven who appears in combat to stroke soldiers’ morale, as well as protect and choose who will die.
What We May Be As Shakespeare presents her, Ophelia has no control over her body, her relationships, or her choices. Cast as Hamlet’s mirror, Ophelia is much more. She’s a reminder of how we’re all prey to stereotypes and pressure from both society and those we love. Ophelia begins on stage bound in flowers, freeing herself from those and society’s expectations to fly.
Madame Vastra Twists Time The Great Detective, a lizard woman from the dawn of time with a taste (quite literally) for badly behaving humans, Madame Vastra is here in all her Victorian glory... to kick ass. Don’t get on the wrong side of this Silurian… She’s been known to eat her enemies.
Mars Needs Women This is not a test: Mars is invading Earth. And why? Mars need women to repopulate a dying planet. Well now... Think of the opportunities! This act features go-go dancing, a giant red rocket, and a 1960's vintage go-go dress in a compilation that's nearly as campy as the original move, but with a lot more sexual innuendo!
